This blog will contain pictures only of the beautiful quilts that I have had the pleasure to work with. I have loved each one as they have passed through my life. I love hearing the stories that go with the quilts. For my everyday antics check out my other blog...

Quilting Information

                                       ***2019***

I am no longer at this blog,
please see my latest work and pricing on this web site:

                                          Thank you!!

About the quilt top:
Press seams well. Be sure the top lies flat. Ripples and "puffy" places will not necessarily quilt flat. But if you are okay with that, I am too!
The top should be free of embellishments such as buttons and beads.
Clip all loose threads and be sure the seams have been pressed; please check and repair any open seams in the quilt.
Important information about the backing:

Please trim off the selvage edges. Sides should be straight, and the backing squared. If you need help with this, please let me know. This is a very important part of the quilting process for me and it must be done. Having the backing squared and on the straight of grain ensures the backing will load correctly for me.
The batting and backing should measure a minimum of eight inches longer and eight inches wider than your quilt top after it has been squared. For example, if your quilt measures 60" x 80", the batting and backing should measure at least 68" x 88".
I also have batting: (See Note below)
You may provide your own batting or I have 90” Warm & Natural 100% Cotton @ $9.00 per yard, Warm & Natural Soft N’ Bright 90” @ $9.00 per yard, Hobbs 80/20 90” wide @ $6.84 per yard and Hobbs 80/20 120” wide @ $7.50 per yard. I will cut the batting in the most economical way possible and I do charge by the inch. I try to have as little “left-over” batting for you as possible. If you have questions/concerns about batting please just ask.
Info on Shipping
Please pack the quilt in a sturdy box. I strongly suggest using a plastic bag to protect the quilt from moisture during shipping. I will return your quilt using the carrier of your choice. I have found that USPS parcel post to be a very economical method. Please let me know when you ship the quilt, I will send you an email the day it arrives. There may be an additional charge of either $1 or $2 for a box to return your quilt. It has become increasingly more difficult for me to find sturdy boxes, and I am currently purchasing them.
What about turnaround time?
I work on the quilts in the order they are received. I can let you know how many quilts are before yours once the quilt has been received. I do have a life that requires some of my time, but will do the best I can to make the turnaround time as short as possible. If you have a special timing request please let me know before shipping the quilt.
*Batting – Prices subject to change, I try to keep this info as up to date as possible. My prices are based on what I am charged when I purchase the batting. Again, please ask if you have a question.

  1. I don't think I square my backing...and I don't remove the selvages...if you need to add a charge to my bill go ahead, sorry!
